Your Family Is Your Story
I lost my mum when I was 25. Growing up in Brazil and later making a life in England, she had lived through so much, but very little of her story had ever been recorded. I realised there were things I wished I could hear her talk about again, stories I wanted to know more about, and memories that were simply gone. I also thought about her future grandchildren, and how they'd never get to know who she really was.
I wanted to help families capture the voices, memories and experiences of the people they love, while there is still time to ask the questions and hear the stories first-hand.
We often think of history as belonging to famous people or important figures. But I've always felt that the lives of ordinary people matter just as much.
